Optimising performance after the move to Klaviyo

In Q2 2025, Dusk Lighting migrated from the Visualsoft email platform to Klaviyo to unlock greater automation, segmentation, and personalisation capabilities. While overall email performance remained solid post-migration, one key flow (Browse Abandonment) wasn’t driving the engagement or conversions expected.

Originally set up with Klaviyo’s default 1-hour delay, the flow was too slow to re-engage customers in their decision-making window. With users browsing actively but not returning, it was clear the timing needed refinement to deliver impact.

The goal was simple: understand user behaviour, optimise the flow for relevance and timing, and turn interest into action.

Improving results through smarter timing

At the end of September 2025, the Visualsoft team and Dusk Lighting made a strategic update to the Browse Abandonment flow, reducing the delay from one hour to just 30 minutes.

The decision was based on behavioural insight showing that a shorter interval would increase engagement likelihood. Once implemented, the new setup was monitored closely, tracking revenue and conversions to gauge the real impact of the change.

The result was immediate - a small but deliberate adjustment that completely transformed performance.

A bright example of data-driven optimisation

The 30-minute delay proved to be a turning point. Within the following month, the Browse Abandonment flow delivered:

  • A 1,770% month-on-month revenue increase

  • £29,905 in revenue generated from the flow alone

The improvement not only demonstrated the value of precision timing but also validated Dusk Lighting’s investment in Klaviyo as a platform capable of driving measurable, sustained growth.

The VS team's attention to detail has been a game-changer for our email strategy. After our migration to Klaviyo, we knew our Browse Abandonment flow had more potential. VS pinpointed the 1-hour default delay as a key area for optimisation. The level of granular, data-driven insight is exactly why we value our partnership with VS."
