Meet the Visualsoft Shopify experts

Carl Swann - Solutions Director

Carl leads on all things Shopify at Visualsoft. He’s got a keen eye for technical strategy - so when a client comes to us with a problem or a plan, Carl’s the one who sees the bigger picture and works out how to make it happen.

He doesn’t just think about what the front-end looks like; he looks at how everything connects behind the scenes too, considering the wider system architecture, third-party integrations, and downstream systems to ensure maximum compatibility and efficiency of business processes. This broader perspective enables businesses to scale effectively while maintaining seamless operations.

His deep understanding of the platform enables him to guide businesses through the complexities of Shopify, from migration to custom development and much more - ultimately ensuring the delivery of a ready-made and scalable solution that the client anticipated from the beginning of their project.

Carl is a dedicated problem-solver both in and out of the office. In his spare time, he’s a self-professed ‘petrolhead’, a fan of F1, and a bit of a techie - spending his downtime building games in Unity and Unreal Engine 5 - very cool if we say so ourselves!

Ryan Winter - eCommerce Consultant

Ryan joined us in August 2024 and hit the ground running. He works closely with new and existing Visualsoft clients to understand where they’re at (and, more importantly) where they want to be.

With eight years focused specifically on Shopify, Ryan knows the platform inside out and has a solid track record of spotting pain points and shaping tailored solutions that actually solve them.

As Ryan puts it: "It's my job to gather the information and make sure that our solutions team can find the right solution for businesses so they can launch on Shopify and ensure it meets their requirements. It's all about the level of due diligence - covering every blade of grass - to deliver exactly what the client needs whilst utilising everything that Shopify has to offer." Put simply, Ryan manages client expectations whilst fully leveraging the Shopify suite to help businesses grow to their full potential.

Outside of work, Ryan is an avid Pokémon enthusiast and enjoys gaming, watching Disney, and even going on holiday to their themed locations - including onboard the iconic Disney Cruise.

Lewis McLeod - Shopify Technical Lead

Lewis joined in January 2025 and brings serious technical know-how to the table. Based in Glasgow, he’s spent over six years working with Shopify - building high-performing stores, developing custom apps, and sorting out tricky integrations for enterprise-level brands.

He’s the guy who makes sure everything works as it should - clean code, smart solutions, and no nasty surprises. Whether it’s rebuilding themes or integrating third-party systems, Lewis keeps projects running like clockwork.

When he’s not immersed in Shopify code and theme development, Lewis spends his time playing rugby as a full-back or winger for his local team. He also enjoys football and is a massive fan of Celtic so don't forget to mention it if you’re ever speaking with him.
