Founded in Leeds in 1975, Moda In Pelle has been crafting shoes that combine British sophistication with fine Italian quality for over 40 years. As a business, they pride themselves on creating fashionable footwear that combines affordable luxury, stunning design and complete comfort, selling across over 20 retail stores and concessions throughout the UK.
The client required a new responsive website solution that addressed the recent branding changes, whilst paying particular attention to the styling of their new brick and mortar stores. It was important that our team were able to increase the functionality and improve the customer experience of the site as a whole, whilst maintaining a balance between cutting edge eCommerce and the heritage of the brand.
Moda in Pelle are renowned as a brand that produce high-quality products coupled with equally excellent customer service, yet going into 2017, the website didn’t reflect the brand, with poor usability and incredibly slow speed not properly serving an incredibly dedicated base of loyal customers.
We quickly identified that not only did the client’s existing website fail to reflect their brand values, but it occupied an out of date look and lacked functionality that direct competitors had. As a consequence it was evident that the mobile experience was poor and needed overhauling. Working closely with Moda in Pelle, our in house design team combined style with substance by creating a new responsive website design which truly reflected the brand image, coupled with enhanced user experience tailored to Moda’s customers, through the in depth analysis of existing user data.
Our team brought the brand to life, ensuring a seamless shopping experience throughout with the development of several bespoke solutions to solve various functionality requests from the client, focusing on the communication of the Moda brand, while still maintaining our best practice eCommerce foundations to maximise conversions.Within just four short months from start to finish, our experts launched Moda in Pelle’s brand new responsive website ready to serve customers in Q4 – the client’s peak period for business as a fashion retailer, and the results of the project speak for themselves. The client has seen significant increases in revenue from international locations including the United States, Australia and Mainland Europe, which has sparked future ventures into country specific facias moving forward throughout 2018 and beyond.
Additionally, Moda in Pelle have made the shortlist for ‘Best Website Design’ at the Drapers Digital Awards 2018.
The results speak for themselves, with traffic and revenue increasing over 16% and 12% respectively coupled with an increase in average order value of over 10% increase.
Significant increases in revenue from international locations including the United States, Australia and Mainland Europe have also sparked a future plans for country specific facias moving into 2018 and beyond.
