Facebook’s Video Partners to Earn Ad Revenue

Facebook has announced plans to pay ad revenue to video creators that upload content to its platform.

In a move that’s set to rival Google’s YouTube, the social giant is launching a Suggested Videos feed for users that will include clips interspersed with autoplay video ads. It’s also unveiled plans to offer video creators a share of the ad revenue it generates as a result of displaying their content – a split of 55% between several creators.

Currently the Suggested Videos feed is being tested with iPhone users in the US, and although the revenue-sharing arrangement is not yet in place, it could prove to be a great source of income for lots of different business – including online retailers – as the social network already has a reported figure of four billion video views per day.
