6 Day Facebook Action Plan

With 2.2 billion daily users on Facebook across the globe, it’s extremely likely that your new and existing customers are among them. Facebook represents a huge potential market for your social media efforts, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to stand out from the crowd….

New to Facebook and unsure where to start? With a few tips and tricks, we can help you get the most out of your business page. Our social media strategist, Gianni, has developed a 6 day Facebook plan to ensure your page is up to scratch, ready to maximise your social media potential.

 

Day 1:

The first step to a successful Facebook Business Page presence, is to ensure company information is correct and up to date. This includes essential information such as your business hours and ways to contact you.

Add your address to make it easy for people to find your bricks and mortar, and your phone number so people can get in touch with ease and include your business hours so your customers know when you’re open! Adding a company bio explaining what you’re about, any company history, your USPs and other info you think is important to your customers, is also a must.

 

Day 2:

Now it’s time to get the most out of your Facebook page.

Add custom features to make your page more attractive, stand out and drive visitors to take action. Add a profile picture of your company logo, and an attractive, high quality cover photo. Personalise your page with templates and let your brand shine through, whether you’re a retailer, service provider, restaurant or venue. Set up your personalised page tabs to display essential information and important things your followers will be interested in.

Last but by no means least, add a call to action to the top of your page. What’s the main action you want your followers to take; Shop now? Book now? Call now? Subscribe? You decide, but make sure it’s included!

Day 3:

It’s time to grow your audience.

There are a few easy tactics to kickstart your page followers. Share your page on your personal timeline and let friends, family and colleagues know about it by giving it a share! People trust people, so word of mouth is an essential part of growing a new page. The truth is you need all the exposure you can get.

Next, invite your friends. Ask friends to recommend your page as your closest friends are your biggest advocates. Send your friends a message asking them to like and share your page with their own personal networks to spread the word of your business.

 

Day 4:

Create engaging content.

Posting regularly on Facebook helps you engage with your audience. We recommend posting once a day at first, so make sure you utilise the scheduling feature.

That’s all well and good, but when should you post? The best time to post on Facebook is generally between 12pm and 3pm Monday to Friday, and on the weekends from 12pm to 1pm. Schedule between these hours for maximum engagement.

Welcome followers to your page with a post telling them exactly why they should click like! Include information about special updates and offers your followers may find useful. Pin your welcome post to the top so new page viewers can find it right away. This is the perfect time to incentivise with a Facebook specific discount code or welcome offer.

Top tip: Video content receives much higher engagement than text or images, so utilise your creative assets where possible!

 

Day 5:

Now it’s time to connect with your page visitors.

Utilise Facebook Messenger to respond quickly. This will not only improve your customer service but build your credibility. You can also add a fast reply badge to your page so customers know they can get their questions answered straight away.

If you cannot continually monitor your page inbox, add an automated response with contact details, letting your customers know you will endeavour to respond to them as quickly as possible.

Top tip: Make sure you’ve downloaded the Facebook Pages app so you can manage your posts, notifications and messages whilst on the go!

 

Day 6:

You’ve spent a lot of time working on your page, its content and driving new visitors to it. It’s now time to gain insight into who they are and how they interact with your business.

Page insights is a powerful Facebook tool you can use to learn about your visitors to gain insight. This will help you refine your content and your Facebook brand. Take a look at where followers are coming from and what posts are performing best. Learn how many users you’ve reached, interactions you’ve received and the age, gender and location of those visiting.

Use Facebook insights to monitor when your audiences are most active as your page grows. You may find that due to the nature of your product, you have opportunities to post early on a morning or late in the evening where your posts may be of even more relevance to your audience.
