Opening the door to greater Microsoft Ads performance with Leader Trade

Leader Trade is a fundamental part of the vast Leader Online brand, known as the no. 1 supplier of doors and floors, alongside a huge variety of home products. First established in the 2000’s, they quickly became one of the largest retailers in their industry. Forging a reputation as the first choice for trade customers, delivering fast delivery and products people want in their homes. 

They’ve been on our Pay Per Click service for several years and trust Visualsoft with putting the right products in front of their customers. We were set the task of upping their marketing performance as much as possible in the Microsoft Advertising space, a relatively untouched and unsaturated market, driving as much sales traffic as possible to Leader Trade.

Maximising on Microsoft Ads

We wanted to exponentially increase the amount of traffic and revenue for Leader Trade, but due to an overlap between Leader Trade and their sister brand, Leader Doors & Floors, we were only able to push certain products through Paid Search within Microsoft Ads. 

We started with testing how a standard shopping worked on the account, but unfortunately this presented limitations within the automated bidding strategies and we decided to move to Smart Shopping. We then pushed this further by introducing Leader Trade to a Performance Max Campaign. This kickstarted testing of the campaign and the ‘All products' shopping campaign, ensuring it was working before we expanded it any further. We already had some indication it would be successful from other Leader campaigns we’d done in the past. 

The results

When we compared the Q1 2024 live campaign results against Q1 in 2023, we saw the effect the Performance Max campaigns had. There were significant increases across the business that were clearly down to the new PPC strategy. 

Clicks: +1,235%

Conv: +242%

Rev: +750%

As well as notable Trade sales that were finalised offline.
