A wishlist facility on an eCommerce site allows users to store products that they are interested in but not yet ready to buy. Products are stored in a cookie which means even if the user comes back many days later, the wish list is still remembered. If the user is logged in, the wish list will be saved to the account and can be used on many different computers.
Wish lists can be added to, edited or items can be removed from it. Once the wish list is ready, it can be emailed to friends, family or colleagues who can then view it online. The people who it is sent to can add any of the items to their shopping basket and buy it.
The wish list is usually displayed in the left navigation and is automatically built up in the display as the list grows.
