Anyone selling on the high street or Internet will be aware that fraud can be an expensive problem. All transactions that take place over the Internet are classed as customer not present (CNP) and happen without a signature. Credit card companies are working harder by implementing new technology such as Chip and Pin, 3D Secure and Verified by Visa (VBV).
However it is also the responsibility of the merchant to ensure that the transaction is not fraudulent without the process being a time consuming and manual operation.
Visualsoft have developed a number of bespoke fraud detection systems which analyse the transaction detail and report back to the site owner (merchant) to make the final decision. Each system is unique in the way that it works to try to best detect any unusual patterns or potentially fraudulent details that have been used.
