2015 is shaping up to be an exceptional year so far for the team here at Visualsoft, with an extensive new employee benefits package introduced, an office expansion on the horizon and numerous award short-lists under our belt.
After finding out we had reached the final of the North East Business Awards last month, we attended the ceremony on Thursday evening as finalists in the Innovation and Company of the Year categories, and returned home winners after scooping the biggie – the Company of the Year award!
There was stiff competition in both categories, with ElringKlinger and Applied Integrations also up for Company of the Year, so we’re absolutely thrilled to have been selected by the panel of judges to receive the award.
Now in its fourth decade, the North East Business Awards are organised by The Journal and the Gazette in association with the North East Chamber of Commerce. Guest speaker on the night was British Army veteran Simon Weston OBE, who has become well known throughout the UK for his charity work and recovery after suffering severe burns during the Falklands War. Attendees also heard from Bob Cuffe, Managing Director of Gazette Media Company.
Speaking at the awards, Mr Cuffe said: “I’m a Teessider, but I’m optimistic – this area has more reasons to be confident about its future than for many a year. Look around tonight – a record attendance – representing a business community that’s confident, varied and led by talented, creative and resourceful leaders.”
We’ve received an overwhelming amount of support since picking up the award last week, so thank you to everyone who has been in touch. Fore more information on the event, including lots of photographs, take a look at the Gazette’s website here.
