In a recent study in the North East, the number of small firms trading online with a turnover of more than £1m is set to reach more than 120 by the end of 2010.

Visualsoft received a big thumbs up this week from one of the North’s top destinations for home interiors.

Earlier this month we launched the brand new website for Chapmans Furniture. The website redesign included features such as newsletter system, product filters and image zoom.

As reported in the today’s press, Visualsoft client and shoe firm the Clinkard Group has nearly doubled its pre-tax profits despite the recession.

As reported in today’s edition of The Journal newspaper, Clinkard say it is confident of further progress thanks to its eCommerce website courtesy of Visualsoft, even though the retail market remains challenging.

The Stockton-based business, who recently hired our award-winning team of website designers and developers to build them a VS3 version Charles Clinkard website, reported pre-tax profits of £1.23m in the year to January 30^th, a huge increase from the £666,000 from the previous 12 months. Turnover was up from £31.6m to £32.1m.

A spokesperson for the group told The Journal: “The business has performed well in a difficult trading environment and recorded a further increase in turnover. The retail website which has just completed its fifth full year’s trading continues to produce excellent results. In the coming year, the retail climate will continue to be challenging but we are confident of further progress.”

The family run firm started life as a single shop in Middlesbrough in 1924 and is now one of the largest independents in the UK and is headed by Charles Clinkard, whose grandfather founded the business. Clinkard now has more than 35 shops and a top notch eCommerce website.

The Visualsoft Football Tournament 2010 is making headlines this week as the build-up to this Saturday’s big kick off reaches fever pitch.

After speaking with Director Richard Bendelow, the following article appeared in Tuesday 6^th July 2010 edition of the Evening Gazette in Middlesbrough:

VISUALSOFT, the multi award-winning eCommerce agency, is holding a football tournament to bring together local firms and agencies and let them network on the pitch.

The Stockton-based business has organised the six-a-side Visualsoft Football Tournament 2010, which will take place at Durham’s Soccarena on Saturday.

Director Richard Bendelow, who set up Visualsoft in 1998 with Dean Benson, says: “We believe it’s really important for businesses across the region to get to know one another and find ways of working together.

“Networking is a great way to encourage this, and in keeping with current football fever we decided to network with actual nets.

“Our first ever Visualsoft Football Tournament promises to be a great day for the teams taking part – we’ll be providing referees, an event photographer, buffet, bar, trophies, and even an on-site masseur.

“We hope that everyone involved makes valuable contacts, and above all, really enjoys themselves.”

Businesses which have entered teams into the tournament include solicitors Ernst & Young, digital marketing companies TH_NK and Media Works, and vehicle parts supplier Fleet Factors.

Visualsoft will also be putting forward a team made up from its 50-strong workforce and if the event proves to be a success, the company is looking to make it an annual tournament and encourage even more businesses to get involved in the future.

For Dean, it will be his latest sporting challenge.

Later this month, he’ll be jetting off to Switzerland to undertake a gruelling Iron Man Challenge of 2.5 mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and a 26-mile run – all in one day without a break.
