Red Hot Sunglasses turns up the heat for fifth birthday

Turning five is a precious milestone, and that’s no different for retailers! This week, to celebrate five years of trading, one of our leading fashion clients, Red Hot Sunglasses celebrated with a party to remember, and we were very lucky to receive an invite.

This wasn’t the only reason to celebrate – the event also coincided with the three year anniversary of RHS and Visualsoft’s partnership, which has resulted in an award winning website (and a pretty great relationship to!).

The Red Hot Chicken Wing Challenge

To celebrate the big 5, the adventurous team at Red Hot rounded up a group of unwilling participants from across their site in Hoults Yard and Visualsoft to take part in the first Red Hot Chicken Wing Challenge – an event not for the faint hearted!

In true Man vs. Food style, the challenge was for 12 contestants to devour six chicken wings cooked and marinated in a deadly combination of two fiery sauces – aptly named 100% Pain and Sudden Death!

Up for the challenge was our very own Head of Innovation, John Ryder, who was up against Red Hot’s very own Managing Director and ‘Food Dood’ Phil Blackett, Scran on the Tyne’s foodie blogger Lauren Archer and Chemistry Marketing’s Richard Havelock.

Unfortunately for the Red Hot team, Team VS triumphed, with John smashing the challenge in just 1 minute and 30 seconds, and taking the title of Red Hot Champion – pictured below with his winning t-shirt after completing the challenge.

The festivities carried on well into the afternoon with some spicy Chilli Chocolate cakes containing hidden scotch bonnets as a heat-filled dessert course for the brave survivors; all making for a rather exciting Friday afternoon!

Red Hot Sunglasses is one of Visualsoft’s most dedicated clients. As an online fashion boutique which specialises in luxury branded eyewear, designer sunglasses and prescription frames, from the get-go the RHS team wanted to create a customer-focussed experience for online shoppers.

Company Director Phil Blackett said in a client testimony that: “When selecting an eCommerce provider to rebuild our website from scratch we had to find an agency who had a relaxed, considerate approach.”

Since 2012, Visualsoft has worked closely with the team at Red Hot to design and build a website which offers a range of eCommerce features to allow Red Hot’s customers to browse and buy products with ease.

In addition to the wide range of eCommerce functionality that’s standard on all Visualsoft-built stores, it also includes a host of other features, including an optimised checkout, which includes multiple secure payment options to give customers more choice, dynamic address lookup to speed up the checkout process, and automatic email reminders to remind to shoppers that abandon their baskets before purchase.

Red Hot have also successfully launched two new platforms for the US and Australia using Visualsoft’s original format as well as trebling their UK sales – impressive!

As one of our many client success stories, we wish Red Hot Sunglasses a very happy fifth birthday and a fantastic fourth year working with us here at Visualsoft – here’s to many more successful years ahead.
