New research release today has revealed that the number of people shopping online in the has doubled over the last 5 years. The study, commissioned by the European Parliament found that the number of EU residents shopping online has risen from around 20 per cent in 2005, to 40% in 2010. UK consumer trends revealed for Christmas

A new study which looked into the ways in which UK consumers are spending their cash, has found that  eCommerce and mCommerce are increasingly popular with consumers. eCommerce sales up 11.5% in July

The latest figures released by the IMRG Capgemini e-retail sales index have shown that eCommerce sales increased by 11.5% in July 2011, when compared to the same period in 2010. The figures also show that British shoppers spent £5.58bn online in July, 5% up on the previous month. Riots boost online shopping

After a week of rioting and looting in a number of the UK's major cities this month, sales online have seen a further boost.

It was reported last week that across all online retailers there was a 35% year on year increase in sales when compared to the same week during 2010. Retail employment falls by 0.4%

Recent research published has shown that in the second quarter of 2011, retail employment was down by 0.4% compared with the same quarter a year earlier, the equivalent of 3,100 fewer full-time jobs according to our sample.
