Two of Visualsoft’s finest football players did their bit for charity today by taking part in the annual TFM Radio Celebrity Football Match, which kicked off this afternoon at the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough.
Visualsoft Integrator Danny McGloin and Head of Online Marketing David Duke (formerly a pro footballer) formed part of a locally-selected team to play against a host of familiar faces including actors from Emmerdale and Hollyoaks, former premier league footballers, and DJs from TFM radio. Although the lads lost (4-2 to the celebs, after penalties), by taking part they both raised over £600 in sponsorship which will go directly to TFM’s nominated charity – Cash for Kids.
The children’s charity is dedicated to helping sick and underprivileged children in Tees Valley, County Durham and North Yorkshire, and raises funds enabling it to make grants to local projects. In 2009 it supported a range of initiatives and organisations including the Children’s Bereavement Service at Teesside Hospice and a Barnardo’s outreach programme, as well as many local special needs schools.
Well done lads – we’re proud of you!
