1. What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a client rewards an affiliate for each customer generated by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts, usually by paying a commission.

2. When will I pay commission?

You pay commission only on ‘valid’ sales. A valid sale is any sale which was not refunded, cancelled or otherwise invalid within a specified period of time, usually 30 days.

3. What can I pay commission on?

You can configure commission on almost any piece of information that you can provide to the affiliate network. For example; brand, category or even new customers and repeat customers.

4. How long does it take to complete the technical integration?

Integration is usually a short process, taking roughly 1 to 2 weeks. However, depending on the complexity of the integration and the requirements of the client, the process can sometimes take longer.

5. Do all affiliates use voucher codes?

No. Vouchers, discounts and promotions are actually only one small part of a much larger mix of affiliates; such as Cashback, Price Comparison, Display Advertising, Blogs and many others.

6. How do affiliates promote my products and services?

Every affiliate is unique. Some will use your product feeds, others will use banners and creative material, some affiliates will generate interest through their own content. Exploring and understanding each affiliate is a big part of running a successful affiliate program.

7. Do affiliate tracking links have a negative impact on SEO?

No. All major search engines completely ignore affiliate tracking links and Google has released material explaining this.

8. Do affiliates work purely on desktop? Or mobile and tablet also?

No, there are affiliates who focus purely on generating sales and traffic via mobile content and others who operate across all devices.

9. How many affiliates are there on the Visualsoft platform?

Quantity is not always quality and affiliates should be chosen to fit the goals of each client; but there are roughly 160,000 potential affiliates on our platform, around the world. With around 16,000 operating in the UK market.

10. Can you control how my vouchers are promoted?

Yes, our platform allows you to lock a voucher code to a specific publisher, or group of publishers, the system will reject any unauthorised use of each code.
