Social networking now accounts for a quarter of time spent online in the UK, proving that the likes of Facebook and Twitter are the popular choices when it comes to online advertising.
IAB chief executive Guy Phillipson says ‘The power of online to build brands is clearly reflected in the spectacular growth of display, thanks to the popularity of social media and video formats.’ Video advertising was up 91% and mobile advertising was up by 116% from 2009.
